Health, Safety & Quality
Caring for people and protecting the standards behind our work.

Health, safety and quality are fundamental to how Optima operates. They shape the systems we put in place, the decisions made across the business and the standards we expect from ourselves and those working alongside us.
Our approach combines independently certified management systems with experienced leadership, clear responsibilities and a culture in which people are encouraged to care, question and speak up.
Independently certified systems
Our UK operations are supported by management systems certified to ISO 9001 for quality, ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety, and BS 99001, which brings an additional focus on quality across the built environment.
Together, they help turn good practice into something consistent and measurable — from how responsibilities are set and risks are managed, to how performance is reviewed and improved over time. ISO 9001 provides the quality framework, BS 99001 applies that thinking specifically to construction and the built environment, while ISO 45001 supports a structured approach to protecting people at work.
Protecting people
The health, safety and wellbeing of our employees, installation teams, partners and everyone affected by our work remain our first responsibility.
Managing quality
Defined processes, documented controls and regular review help us maintain consistency across design, manufacture, project delivery and installation.
Continually improving
We monitor performance, build on what works well and refine our systems to keep standards consistent as the business develops.

We are continually striving for improvement. We ensure our products are of the highest quality, as well as making sure that the health, safety and wellbeing standards of our staff are always progressing.

12 years of consecutive RoSPA Gold Awards
In 2026, Optima achieved its twelfth consecutive RoSPA Gold Award. Organisations that achieve 10 or more consecutive Gold Awards receive the RoSPA President’s Award, recognising sustained health and safety performance over a number of years.
The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards recognise organisations that can demonstrate strong health and safety management and performance. They consider how risks are controlled, how health and safety is managed across the business and how performance is monitored and improved.
