OPTech is Optima’s dedicated, in-house technical support team for fire-resistant glazing, bringing clarity to complex design challenges. Working with project teams from early stages, OPTech helps ensure systems are correctly specified, understood and delivered as intended.
OPTech was founded in response to the terrible tragedy at Grenfell Tower, with a commitment to raising standards across the sector. Our mission is to reduce uncertainty around passive fire protection through evidence-based support, training and technical guidance, helping improve confidence, compliance and safety across both our teams and the wider industry.
Technical clarity, backed by evidence
OPTech is Optima’s dedicated in-house technical team for fire-resistant glazing, providing specialist support where design, specification and supporting evidence require close review. Working with project teams from an early stage, the team helps clarify system requirements, identify limitations and support informed decisions before installation begins.
This approach connects fire and certification expertise with Optima’s wider design, estimating, project delivery and installation teams, helping ensure the specified system is understood, coordinated and delivered in line with the available evidence.
From specification to delivery
OPTech reviews proposed fire-resistant glazing applications, supporting evidence and interfaces with surrounding construction to establish whether the intended configuration is appropriate.
The team also responds to technical queries during tender, design development and installation, while providing project guidance, CPDs and training to improve understanding of passive fire protection.
