The Microflush aluminium door frame was initially developed in reponse to an architect's desire for an office front system of constant width, flush on both sides. The 54mm width of the frame was dictated by the thickness of the rebated flush timber doors.

The frame was then rationalised and developed to accept other door types such as single and double glazed doors, both hinged and pivoting. The rebate in the back of the frame accepts single glazing with the option of a silicone or dry joint, but the frame can still integrate with Optima's 217 and Revolution double glazed systems.

The Microline door frame was designed to work in conjunction with Optima's Revolution 97 and 69 systems as an alternative to the Microflush frame. It was an exercise to provide a more minimal solution without compromising on acoustics, whilst still allowing for use of all other door types. As a separate profile the Microline frame can be positioned in different locations on the Revolution jamb to suit different design intents.
