The design function is a fundamental requirement of our industry. The timely production of design information, both for design team approval, as well as internal use for manufacture and scheduling is essential to be able to deliver a project on time.
We use in-house designers and engineers to achieve this goal. With the use of the latest structural engineering software aids, projects are calculated for efficient use of materials by our in-house engineering department, in advance of the designers taking charge of the project. In this way, the design staff have a clear set of parameters to work within, which avoids unnecessary delays waiting for external consultants.
The in-house designers, working in 2D and 3D with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor are able to progress detailed designs with regular monitoring as part of Optima's commitment to delivering projects on time.
The use of in-house design gives the project teams within Optima complete control over drawing production, and removes the problem of employing sub-contractors who may not perform as required.
The design department is able to be far more flexible than it could be if there was a dependence upon the performance of sub-contract labour. Ultimately, this ensures the department produces the required information in a managed manner.
