The Driving Standards Agency has consolidated its several regional offices into a single central location in Nottingham. Warwick based Architects Grant Thorp, and Contractors IBEX designed and managed the interior fit out of two floors of the Parliament Street Building using Optima 117 and 217 ranges of glazed partitioning together with Optima 97 advanced drywall.
The project consisted of constructing the private offices and meeting rooms within the building including a central separating glazed wall to separate the open plan working area from the DSA breakout areas within the ground floor atrium.
The glazed fronts of the rooms and conference areas comprise 12mm toughened glass modules, some facetted, featuring Optima's minimal aluminium dry joint all integrated with Optima's Type 1 door frames housing solid timber pivoting door leaves.
To provide privacy in the open plan areas, Optima constructed low level screens of 15mm toughened glass, fixed to the structural floor with the fixings masked by bespoke formed skirtings.
