Project Case Study

Bishop Ramsey School is a mixed comprehensive Church of England School for 11 to 18 year olds.  It is situated on two sites, a kilometre away from each other in Ruislip.  Bishop Ramsey is a thriving and vibrant school with over 1250 students and 150 staff. The school has a rich cultural life with regular art exhibitions, concerts and productions.

Optima revamped the teaching rooms where a high level of acoustic performance was required.  Optima’s Revolution 97 double glazed system was the ideal solution.  In addition, specialist fire rated screens were installed to all fire escape routes and corridors within the school for safety, achieving a combination of 30 minutes and 60 minutes integrity and insulation.  For non-fire rated screens, Optima’s silicone jointed 117 mullion free system was employed.  Manifestation included 75mm band of film, applied film text and sand blast etched text.  All aluminium and steel components were powder coated to RAL 9007.
